Submission Process

Understand every stage of the EUMJ editorial workflow — from the moment you submit to the day your article is published.

The Workflow

Six Stages, End to End

Every manuscript passes through the same transparent pipeline.

  1. 01

    Submitted

Manuscript received and awaiting technical screening.

  2. 02

    Screening

Technical screening — completeness, formatting, scope, similarity.

  3. 03

    Under Review

Peer review by expert reviewers, coordinated by an Associate Editor.

  4. 04

    Decision

Final editorial decision made by the Editor-in-Chief.

  5. 05

    Production

Copyediting, formatting, proofreading, and DOI assignment.

  6. 06

    Published

Article assigned to an issue and made publicly available.

Step 1

Prepare Your Submission

Before you begin the online form, have everything ready. Submissions missing any required item are returned at the technical screening stage.

Submission Checklist

  • Article Type (Research, Review, or Case Study)
  • Title (a URL-safe slug is auto-generated)
  • Abstract (max 250 words)
  • At least one Topic from the journal's seven domains
  • At least one Keyword
  • Author list with exactly one "Corresponding Author"
  • Anonymous Manuscript (PDF/DOC/DOCX)
  • Title Page (PDF/DOC/DOCX)
  • Cover Letter (PDF/DOC/DOCX)
  • Declarations (PDF/DOC/DOCX)
  • Supplementary Material (optional)
Step 2

Submit Online

Create an account (or sign in) to access the author dashboard. The submission form is a guided four-step wizard:

1

Manuscript Info

Article type, title, abstract, topics, and keywords.

2

Authors

Add and reorder authors, mark the corresponding author, and set affiliations.

3

Files

Upload the anonymous manuscript, title page, cover letter, declarations, and (optionally) supplementary material.

4

Acknowledgement

Review a summary of your submission and confirm the policy acknowledgement.

Once you submit, you receive a manuscript number (format EUMJ-YYYY-XXXXXX) and your manuscript status becomes Submitted. You can track progress at any time from your dashboard.

Step 3

Technical Screening

Every submission is reviewed by our Technical Screening team for completeness, formatting, scope, declarations, anonymity, and similarity. Screening outcomes determine the next step.

Passed

Your manuscript moves to editorial review, where an Associate Editor will be assigned.

Revision Required

You receive a feedback card listing the failed or warned checklist items, plus the screener's notes. Upload a revised version to re-enter screening.

Desk Rejected

The manuscript does not meet our requirements (for example, an out-of-scope submission or similarity index above 30%). The lifecycle ends here.

The Revision Loop

If your manuscript is returned for revision, you can resubmit a new version. Each resubmission creates a fresh version on the same manuscript record, so the history of your revisions is preserved. Screening runs again on the new version.

Step 4

Editorial Assignment & Peer Review

Once screening passes, the Editor-in-Chief assigns an Associate Editor whose expertise matches your manuscript's topics.

A

Associate Editor Assigned

The AE reads your manuscript and selects at least two independent reviewers.

B

Reviewers Evaluate

Reviewers assess originality, methodology, analytical precision, evidence, bibliography, and ethics.

C

Revision Rounds (if requested)

If reviewers request changes, you submit a new version with a point-by-point response. Only reviewers who requested a revision are re-invited.

D

Editorial Decision Proposed

The AE proposes an Accept or Reject. The Editor-in-Chief approves or overrides with a written reason.

Steps 5 & 6

Production & Publication

An accepted manuscript enters production, where it is copyedited, formatted, proofread (with your sign-off), and assigned a DOI. It is then scheduled into an issue of the journal.

Copyediting

Formatting & Proofing

DOI & Publication

Once published, your article is freely available to readers worldwide under a CC BY 4.0 license.

Tracking

Track Your Submission

Your author dashboard displays every manuscript you have submitted along with its current status and a full activity timeline. Email notifications are sent at each stage.
